Candle Company Recycles 117 tons of Garbage, Wins Award

For Every Body’s 52% Recycling Rate Merits Top 10 Award

For Every Body Chosen as Top Ten Utah County Recycler and 2009 Green Team Excellence Award for 52% Recycling Recovery Rate

Lindon, UT – January 14th, 2010 – Paul Anderson, CEO of For Every Body, today was pleased to announce being awarded the “2009 Green Team Excellence Award” for the company’s recycling and redirecting garbage efforts, by Dunn Recycling.

According to Paul Anderson, CEO of the nation’s largest woman-owned candle manufacturer, in 2009 For Every Body recycled and reused 117 tons of garbage totaling an approximately 52% recovery rate of the total trash volume.

“For Every Body recycles wax, rebuilds old pallets, sorts garbage and sells scrap all in the effort to be conscious of the company’s impact on the environment,” said Paul Anderson. “It is imperative that large manufacturers be mindful of the waste it produces. Landfills are filling up at an alarming rate in this country and by recycling we can alleviate some of the overburden on the environment.”

According to Pat Dunn, owner of Dunn Recycling, the “2009 Green Team Excellence Award” is given to companies that are committed to recycling and diverting trash from the landfill.

“To put things in perspective, most companies strive for 20% to 30% recycle rates,” said Pat Dunn, of Dunn Recycling. “For Every Body’s recovery rate of 52% (in their first year) puts them at the top 10% of recyclers in Utah County. For Every Body is really committed to being green.”
